Our Bread

We bake some of the best breads in the world, and we hope you agree. One taste of our delicious hard-crusted breads is usually enough to convince most people. But there are other things that make us proud, and may further convince you that you hold in your hand a gourmet loaf unmatched by others.

We begin by using a thirty year old natural starter made from fermented grapes and other natural ingredients that are unique to each bread variety and allow them to ferment slowly. We use unbleached, unbromated flour and the freshest ingredients we can find. And as careful as we are with what we put in our breads, we think it’s important to mention what we leave out – there are no preservatives of any kind. This guarantees the exceptional taste and flavor you expect from Baker’s Crust.

After rising, we shape and gently bake each loaf in a special European stone hearth oven to form a crusty exterior and a moist interior. These ovens, as much as our talents and doughs, give each loaf the robust character that you would find in a rustic European countryside.
