EAT WELL, BE HAPPY

At Baker’s Crust Artisan Kitchen, we ask the crucial questions to tantalize your tastebuds... How can we roast a perfect tomato? What if we made our own mozzarella? Which bake-time gives the crust of our bread the perfect crunch? You can count on us to serve up a celebration of the best ingredients on every plate. We source from farms here in Virginia...

but we’ll go all the way to Italy to learn how to make a true Neapolitan pizza or New Zealand to source the best grass-fed beef. Eight restaurants later, we even partner with a local farm, called The Neighborhood Harvest, where the freshest greens are grown. When we opened our doors 28 years ago, farm-to-table food was a new idea. Since then, we have continued to prepare our menu with inspiring ingredients. The saying around our own family table is this: Eat Well, Be Happy. We hope you’ll bring your own friends and family to experience it for yourselves.

OCTOBER 1993

Baker's Crust opened for business in a 3000 square foot storefront, located in Hilltop North Shopping Center, about 3 miles away from the oceanfront in Virginia Beach. We have evolved from a self-service, 36-seat sandwich and breakfast spot to a full service restaurant, servicing breakfast, lunch and dinner, and dessert seven days a week. Hearth-baked, European style artisan breads are at the heart of our business. Everything, including the breads, pastries and desserts, are made from scratch.

Baker's Crust opens it's first location in our state's capital located on Cary Street.

The original location in Virginia Beach baked all of the breads, pastries and desserts for the three locations, at first, but to keep up with the demand, we opened a 4,600 square foot central production facility down the street and around the corner.
